Bowl of Podacarpus "The Purse"
This is a Bowl turned from Podacarpus (WHAT?), which was a tree in my neighbor's yard a couple months ago. It was still breathing when I put it on the lathe. Seriously, the day it was cut, it found itself the target of my sharp steel. This "Purselike" Bowl is what I found in it. I didn't much care for the coloration in it, so I finished it with Tinted Shellac, topped with much more clear shellac. This also was to prevent cracking (It hasn' cracked, yet.) See the Piece "Vessel Emerging #1 for an update on what's become of the wood this was made of. Price doesn't include shipping.
